Sadly I can’t go to CAF 2019, but I’m watching from far out West Coast, see below:

Good to see you at the show Klaus.  As always, your room was more of a listening party than a sales pitch.  First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Johnny Cash was absolutely haunting.  :o Just goes to show that unlimited money is not a replacement for intelligent design and thoughtful setup.

My favorite song of the show had to be the guy who brought in the "Knight Rider" soundtrack (although I would have preferred that tit had in eluded the VoiceOver form the opening credits).

Looking forward to next year,
Dan

Here is a photo of the setup, not the best quality photo, but I was focused on the sound.

My first time hearing an Odyssey system at a show.  Everything I have heard and read about Klaus and his setup is true.  It was my favorite room at the show, Klaus creates a great mood, and was a very welcoming host.  Of course, as an Odyssey owner, I may have been a bit biased.  I agree with JackD on the speakers.  They really are much nicer in person than photos suggest.

AVShowrooms couldn't have hit it more on the head.  No one (even those showcase immensely more expensive equipment/rooms) dials in a room as well as Klaus.  His equipment rocks, and we all need to take a page out of his book on paying meticulous attention to detail in room set up.

Another remote congratulations Klaus, I checked out CAF virtually via the web and YouTube. The AV Show Reports team named the Odyssey CAF room as one they wanted to take home as a complete system.

This was also my favorite room at CAF 2019. Unfortunately, I was only able to listen to two songs on Friday before moving on. I missed Saturday and Sunday morning at the show due to family obligations. By the time I had returned on Sunday afternoon, the room was out of order. Apparently, someone had forgotten to mute the preamp before futzing with the turntable and that in turn blew out one of the tweeters, thus rendering the loudspeakers incapable of producing nice sounds. Needless to say, I was sorely disappointed.

Despite the entire system being a relative bargain as far as high end HiFI is concerned, I'm still not yet in a position to drop $6k on speakers or $10k+ for the entire system (sans source components like turntable or CD player). However, I am saving my pennies and I eagerly await the next opportunity to demo this fine system. Nothing I heard at CAF 2019 had the dynamics, soundstage or fun factor that this system had. I'm not a HiFi reviewer so my vocabulary is rather limited. But it had this great sense of space. It was spacial. And special, too.

Yes,  tweeter down (first Beryllium that quit on me)...I plan for a lot of things at these shows,  but not for this freaking idiot....(me)  stepping onto the IC at the amp side and putting this ungodly jolt through the speakers...that did it,  and amazingly,  a first for me.....
