Battery supply help.
« on: 7 May 2012, 11:12 pm »
I received the battery supply for my Virtue today. As I was afraid of, I have no idea how to hook it up. I have an AC cord, the battery box, and another little box with a cord to connect to the battery box. I see no way to connect it to the amp itself. Am I missing a part?  If not, I am baffled.  Any advice will be appreciated.

Hey Randy,

There's a power cord that goes to the amp....  Shame on us.  JT will send with instructions.

What batteries do you have?  All set there?  Send me a PM with the model/terminal type, etc.  Let's make sure our harness will fit it.

Seth,  thanks for getting back. I figured I must be missing a cord. As far as what kind of batteries, I don't know. They're in the black box. I just ordered the kit on the website, so they must be the standard issue. The battery box had two white terminals, and a rectangular hole. Can you tell me which terminal, the inside one or the outside one, is the input so I can hook it up and start charging. Can I do that?

Randy

Seth, I just saw your p.m. and will send an answer.

Randy,

Do the batteries you have fit into the box?

Do the little clips that came with the case fit on the terminals you have?

Jason, no problem.  I wonder about the two white terminals on the case. I assume one is the input from the charger, the other is the output to the amp. Which is which, or does it even matter which way you use them?

They are the same.
If there was certain way to hook it up we would have used different plugs.

Cord arrived today, so I hooked up the battery power supply to my 2.2. Astonishing. As good as the 2.2 sounded before this, the battery power has taken it to a new level. It seems as the last vestige of any coloring in the sound is gone, and that I can hear deeper into the recording, closer to the master tape, you might say. That may be nonsense, but it's the best way I can think of to describe the improvement. The bass seems better, as does the high frequency extension. This all may be an illusion, but it's the impression I get. A funny thing. Since I put the 2.2 with my "big speakers," I have felt less of an urge to want to buy more CDs. I am just a lot more happier and satisfied listening to my old ones all over again.

A couple of days ago I ordered a 901, black front, the blue sides, and a red rosewood top. The Virtue will go back to my bedroom once it arrives. If the Sensation sounds at least as good as the Virtue, I will be happy.
