I switched out my 3" tangband fullrangers for a pair of HI-VI tweeters, to see the difference.
the sound may be more accurate, but it's colder, not as compelling. I may just need to get used to it, or try an L-pad.
is it possible that, for an OB, a fullranger is a better choice than a tweeter? anyone know?

ok! i'll answer my own question. I hauled out the tweeters and put back the full-range tangbands. not perfect but better.
warmer, not colder. listenable.
I think this is the answer, although I still haven't bought L-pads.
