hi all,

i heard about a better than Aptx HD protocol for transmitting music, and its LDAC (loseless) that Sony made 'open source' or allowable for other devices. Is it possible for WR-1 and other nuprime devices add this standard just by a firmware update?

Sony's LDAC is only available from Sony and very few companies are adopting it as a solution. WR-1 use Qualcomm chip for aptX HD and from what we can gather (there is no definitive answer), the performance is comparable between the two.
The technology built into BT devices are typically not upgradable (no BT 4.0 to 5.0 firmware update, no non aptX to aptX update etc) due to cost consideration.
