Nice to know you are still lurking on this thread.  I hope you are well and listening to some good music. I think the Kinks Mono Collection is outstanding. If you haven't heard these records, give a listen to case/lang/veirs and The Head and the Heart. I've been listening to the Avett Brothers a lot. Great lyrics and great Americana folk rock.

Don't be such a stranger. I miss your postings.

Laura

Thanks, Laura. Been listening to the Kinks mono set. Great packaging (except the book is a bit hokey). "Two Sisters" has been a rediscovered favorite right now. Will check out your recommendations.

Plus, I have a mono-only turntable now with an Ortofon SE Mono. If you listen to Arthur's Shangri-La in stereo, his voice is in only one channel, pretty spooky as the separation is near complete. It was back in the day of maximum separation stereo, unnatural in a way, cool in another way. Anyhow, in mono it's all together now!

Howdy brother! I found this one last week. I bought the album when it came out in '72 and lost it somewhere along the line about 40 years ago.   :o

The original had a funky denim outer bag.

Azteca

From Wikipedia:

Azteca was an American Latin rock/jazz fusion group formed in 1972, started by percussionists Coke Escovedo and his brother Pete Escovedo, who had just finished stints with Latin rock pioneering band Santana. Azteca was the first large-scale attempt to combine multiple musical elements in the context of a Latin orchestra setting, and featured horns, woodwinds, multiple keyboards, three vocalists, guitars, drums, and multiple Latin percussionists.
