Once again in hirez world, these are not new hirez releases!  These Warner releases have been out on DVD-Audio for many years (I own most if not all of them).

I'm beginning to get very frustrated with the labels.  All we keep seeing is the same hirez, being redistributed as downloads or different formats.  There are only a few new non-classical SACD's and they are $50+ SHM's.  ARGH!!

Has anybody heard whether or not the Yes release is a brand new re-mastering for this release, an SACD using the master tape the Japanese hold, or is this the same source as the OOP DVD-A?

My limited understanding is that these releases (Yes included) are simply SACD versions of what has been on DVD-Audio.  It would be a great thing to have new masters, but I doubt it.  The big labels don't do that sort of thing usually.

There is one bonus track on Fragile (America)
 1 ROUNDABOUT
 2 CANS AND BRAHMS
 3 WE HAVE HEAVEN
4 SOUTH SIDE OF THE SKY
5 FIVE PER CENT FOR NOTHING
 6 LONG DISTANCE RUNAROUND
 7 THE FISH(SCHINDLERIA PRAEMATURUS)
 8 MOOD FOR A DAY
 9 HEART OF THE SUNRISE
10 AMERICA
Iam not in DVD-Audio, only CD & SACD, so this is news to me.
The DVD-Audios mastering job is bad or low upsampler??

America (bonus track) is on DVD-A, too.  Nothing different!

DVD-A job is fine, nothing great.  I was not a huge fan of the surround mix; seemed gimmicky, but not horrible.

My point is, and continues to be, that these releases are nothing new though...just same re-released hirez as DVD-A.

But for those of us (the vast majority) who don't and won't have an SACD player, this is a great development, as it gives us access to hi-rez we didn't have before.

Not true.  You need an SACD player for these releases (although they will filter out to HDtracks too, as some already have).  Personally, I would do the discs just cuz you also get multichannel in most cases.

I have the YES Fragile DVD-A, has the same bonus track, and it sounds very good on two channel playback.  Just got it ripped to the music server.
