Any other Classical Music discussion sites?
« on: 16 Jun 2009, 03:01 pm »
Hi,

I am trying to learn more about classical music and I have been soaking up the knowledge posted so far (I didn't know there were so many versions of Bach's Cello Suites!)

I was wondering if there were discussion groups/sites before we got this one here at AC (for example I can think of two sites dedicated to all things headphones, in addition to the circle here).

If posting about other sites is frowned upon, perhaps you could PM the links/addresses?

Thanks in advance.

David

Other places I frequent -

GMG Forum - they tend to be a bit "Old Boy's Club", and even a tiny bit snobbish, but there's tons of good info there and some OK posters still active:  http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php

And, a really good classical review site can be found here:  http://www.musicweb-international.com/

An OK review site is here:  http://www.classicstoday.com/

Tyson,

Thanks very much for the links.  I will check them out.

I also came across this one.  I don't know much about it since I just stumbled across it, but it seems well organized with frequent postings.

And this one.  Seems like it considers itself classical central.

Cheers,

Wolf- The Encyclopedia (I spell that right?) ain't got nothing on you.  How do you do it?

And from "what classical music are you listening, etc"-  Twisted followed by Nessun Dorma?  That's crazy!  Is this a very good recording?  I'm crazy to know.
