Anyone downloaded (or have the vinyl) version of the two point microphone recordings of this Beethoven cycle?  They are available for download in high-rez.  This is a distinctly different recording from the regular high-rez multi-mic version.  I purchased the multi mike version not knowing about the purist microphone version since its buried on the BPO website.  They're charging a bit more for it.  Any thoughts?  https://www.berliner-philharmoniker-recordings.com/beethoven-symphonies-24-bit-download-lp.html

I haven't heard it,  but Waterlilly Acoustics and Don Morrison of Morrison Speakers would be happy!

A friend brought his vinyl set over, we played the first Symphony on my system, sound is fantastic, except for a pressing flaw, there was some grove noise on part of the LP.

While the CD / Blu-ray version was recorded using standard main and spot microphones, a one-point microphone set-up with only one pair of stereo microphones was used for the vinyl edition.

What would be the reasoning for that? (I'm curious.)
