Be-Bop Deluxe were an English progressive rock band who achieved critical acclaim and moderate commercial success during the mid to late 1970s.
The band's sound emerged as a mixture of glam rock, prog rock and straightforward rock and roll.

The Electric Flag was a blues rock soul group, led by guitarist Mike Bloomfield, keyboardist Barry Goldberg and drummer Buddy Miles, and featuring other well-known musicians such as vocalist Nick Gravenites and bassist Harvey Brooks. Bloomfield formed the Electric Flag in 1967, following his stint with the Butterfield Blues Band. The band reached its peak with the 1968 release, A Long Time Comin', a fusion of rock, jazz, and R&B styles that charted well in the Billboard Pop Albums chart.

Coven's 2nd album from 1972

Quote
Coven is an American rock band formed in the late 1960s, composed of vocalist Jinx Dawson, bassist Oz Osborne (not to be confused with Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath), Chris Neilsen on guitar, Rick Durrett and later John Hobbs on keyboards, and drummer Steve Ross. They are recognized as being the band that first introduced the "Sign of the Horns" to rock, metal and pop culture (as seen on their 1969 debut album release Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls).

This remains up there as one of my favorite Jeff Beck records. It's before he takes the turn into heavy fusion. Also love the vocals by one, young Rod Stewart.  8)

I'll never forgive Rod Stewart for the choices he made. He could have been one of the great Blues singers. Maggie May indeed.

Even pre...

I love the Ol" Man River standard rendered as an electric, rock blues number! The voicing is perfect.

Bill Nelson went on to have a very prolific solo career with experimental, avant garde electronics etc. I saw him in concert on the Sunburst Finish tour and he was also an incredible showman...third to Paris and Golden Earring, but clearly the top performer..Very under appreciated here in the USofA.

Who knew this freakin guy was handsome.  Put on some weight, too, since the 60's I see.  Haven't heard this.  Lost track of him after that "New Orleans" coffee house gig (in Berkeley :dunno:) with bass player and friend Jack Casady.  Love "Mann's Fate" from that album.  Never gets old to me.  Really good stuff never does don't ya know.
