Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a power conditioner.  Ideally I would like an all in one unit that offers protection, conditioning, and voltage stabilization in one.

So far I know of the following:

Monster Cable
PS Audio
Furman

Did I miss any others?  I think Exact Power is out of the market, correct?

Thanks!

It only offers one of his requirements though.  Otherwise I'd make him a good deal on one.

Thanks, but it does not qualify.  Needs to meet all 3....

Voltage stabilization? I never understand why people want this... it just sounds like a nice idea.

Audio by Van Alstine is now shipping all its Fet Valve amplifiers built since the first of the year with a built in DC blocker circuit.

This protects the amplifier from low level DC voltage riding on your AC power lines.  The DC voltage can appear from home appliances that use half of the AC wave to adjust power, such as hair dryers, dimmers, and other similar devices (even ones you may not know are in use in your home).

This enhancement has not increased the price of the amplifiers, just their adaptabiliity to more extreme use situations.

Regards,

Frank Van Alstine

I think that the hair dryer example is a thing of the past or if someone uses an old appliance it will be obvious when they turn it on/off.
The new problem is DC off-set or DC asymmetry caused by SMPS's and the like generating harmonic distortion on the power line. Almost everything has an SMPS these days and most run 24 by 7.

Depends where you live. Some areas have bad fluctuating voltage conditions, others extended periods of under or over-voltage. Totally depends!

The Torus Power AVRs (Automatic Voltage Regulation) fit the OPs criteria.

Environmental Potentials also do a couple of units which basically remove all the RF crud from the waveform.

A final option is cascading power conditioners e.g. a online, dual conversion UPS followed by a isolation transformer.
