Congrats, Lou on a great show! This was my first audio show where Daedalus was exhibiting so it was interesting to be able to compare Lou's (and Dan's/Alex's) offerings with other systems under show conditions. Prior shows I always found myself comparing the sound in the various rooms with what I was hearing at home, which isn't really all that useful or fair. My takeaway from CAF was simply affirmation that there is something very special about Lou's speakers--an ability to draw you into the performance in a way that allows the music to move you on an emotional level. Two examples come to mind. I asked Scott to play something from Neil Young's "Massey Hall" LP on the smaller system featuring the new Muse loudspeaker. Absolutely stunning from the first chords as Neil launched into "Helpless" and I sat back and completely forgot where and when I was--it was 1971 and I was in row 10. Down in the big room later in the day on Saturday Lou played a Louis Armstrong recording, again on vinyl, that was both deeply touching and completely endearing. I listened to nearly every system in the hotel that day and none of them moved me like this, none of them made me remember why I got into this hobby in the first place, none of them spoke to my soul and left me breathless and elated the way the two Daedalus rooms did. Lou, you are a master at your craft and have wisely aligned yourself with others who share your passion and aesthetic (Dan and Alex). Together you guys are doing great things that seem to elude others in the field. Keep up the good work and thank you for making it happen for us.
