wood is nice, fuse is necessary (Cornet 2)
« on: 11 Apr 2008, 07:15 am »
hi again!

last night i ordered the cornet 2 and then i started getting nervous!!! some doubts about upgrades and about enclosure:

i dream on a wood made Cornet 2 but i'm not sure about grounding, probably it can't be entire of wood, the top has to be aluminum, isn't it?

do i have to keep in mind any other considerations about wood (weight, height, thick...)??
and grounding??

i'm seriously convinced about replacing IEC on/off switch by a vintage-like switch, like this

http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/KNB-160/310/1.1%22#34;DIA._POINTER_KNOB,_PUSH-ON_1_4"#34;_SHAFT_.html

so the fuse box will be placed beside the IEC plug,

current here is around 230V, if Cornet 2 needs 35W, fuse has to be 152mA?? or maybe the tube warming and startup needs more power??

thanks everyone!!!

Jim think about printing T-Shirts with Cornet or Cymbal schems, i'll wear them proudly!!!

Go with a 1/2 amp slo-blo type.
