I’m considering to replace a 7100. But all my lenses are DX. Is it a compromise using DX lenses on an FX camera?

Never used a DX lens on mine, but you can set the camera to output the full FX frame regardless of the mounted lens, by accessing -

Shooting Menu -> Image Area -> Auto DX crop -> OFF.

Well I must say I’m a fence sitter at the moment. I’ve never bought a used camera before. I bought a used lense once and it worked great during the demo, but had an intermittent glitch that caused the lense to twitch out once in a while. Not saying at all that this could be the case with your camera, but is there any warranty period left on the unit?

Sorry I didn’t realize it was 2 gens behind now. The 7200 is on sale now for $829 body brand new and might go this route at the moment.

Veto the wife's vote and buy this D800. For a couple hundred more bucks than a new D7200, you'll get a substantially better camera with no buyer's remorse. The "I don't want to buy used" thing is meaningless. In the past, I must have purchased 8 or 10 cameras, all of them used or refurbished, and never had a problem. The seller is professional photographer who probably takes really good care of his gear. What more can you ask for?

Well I would buy it but it’s her money and she will buy what she wants. I just seen this pop up and thought she might want it. But she just wants a warranty, and is fine with the quality level of the 7200. Sorry for posting and not buying.
