12B4 tube glow nicely, but it's not too hot.

This the first I've ever heard anything about this preamp.  Has anyone posted some listening impressions.  How does it compare to the Dodd Battery Pre I?  Battery Pre II?

12B4 is a brand new product, I had Gary build it for me.
12B4 is single triode tube, and it sound almost the same with 2A3, I think 12B4 little more natural, neutral than 2A3,
2A3 little lay back, warmer tube.
To me: 6H30 tube pre more aggressive than 12B4, everything else are the same character.
12B4 tube are cheap and plentiful, that's another reason to build balanced pre.  :thumb:

Trung, I like the "industrial" look on the pre - neat to see Gary change up the look every now and again. :)

Interesting reading your thoughts on the character of this vs. (I'm assuming?) the standard Dodd preamps.  Maybe a silly question, but is yours battery powered or does it run off an AC power supply?

I've had Trung's preamp for a couple days, but haven't had much time to listen yet. I have it connected to a 12V battery from a UPS that quit working at work. I'll try to get some pictures and give my listening impressions.
