Too much power??

hello,

I have a pair of Sapphire Xl's rated at 4.5 ohms.  I'm considering Bel Canto's new Integrated amp,  rated at 300 watts of dual mono balanced power capability per channel.  Is there a  possibility of blowing these speakers at moderate volume due to such a large input of power?

It is distortion that will blow the speakers. Not wattage

They're right . . .  as long as it sounds good, they're not being pushed past their limit. When a system starts sounding strained or harsh, it is being played too loud. I routinely use a pair of 300 watt mono blocks (Muse) in my main evaluation system.
