Know of any STL people big into HO trains?
« on: 11 Dec 2018, 08:37 pm »
Before my kids were born, I bought a lot of mostly HO train stuff (new and used), for them to play with.

Aside from setting them up around the base of the Christmas tree a few times, they've been boxed up since.  And my son will be 40 years old next year. :duh:

Some Marklin, some other European, all kinds of mixed-up stuff. A little O-guage stuff, too.

Anyway, I'd like to find a home for the stuff in the STL region.  Anyone know of a train-o-phile that might be interested?

Thanks!

Bob

p.s.  If this idea works out, I may be selling my wife's shit, too.

Hey Bob,

Great name, by the way.  My brother, Bill, is a real train nut and is looking to get back into it.  He would probably love to hear about it.  He lives in Southern California, however.  I will tell him about your stuff.

Best regards,
Bob

I can imagine someone with a great stereo playing some of those early Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Train recordings at full volume in the room while playing with the miniature versions....

GREAT IDEA, Liz!  I have two of their early LPs.  Better yet, wait until tornado season, and play them loud with all the windows open!

My brother in a train fanatic, since he was a kid. He has all kinds of models in his room, but no where to set the stuff up. He also worked for the railway as a diesel electrician, but no longer works due to poor health.

In another lifetime, I was into HO scale. But alas.... sometimes an adult must choose which hobbies the available space is used for.
I'm currently maxed out on time, space, and money. Sure would love to though.

Yeah, I was a big Lionel freak until I was about 14.  And then audio and cameras came along.   And women...
