Title: about DAC-9 aes input
Post by: r91085 on 27 Dec 2017, 03:45 pm
If I use AES between CDP and DAC-9 , is it better than coax or optical ?

I don't have aes cable and usually use coax . So is it worth to try AES ?

usually, but not always (in audio it is always like this!!!!!)
AES should be better

i have tested on different Dac's both plastic optical (glass-fiber Lifatec cable) and AES and i like AES more

Wadia connection ranking is:

1) glass optical (Wadia proprietary)
2) AES/EBU (now AES3) using XLR connector
3) Coax using BNC connector
4) Coax using RCA connector
5) Toslink plastic optical

unless you have a real first-class BNC output, AES is easier, it is the pro audio standard , plenty of very good and inexpensive cables around
