I like Eric’s version better it’s the one I grew up on.
But my current preference for Reggae raises my liking for the original.
For me these 2 are about even as it gets.

Thanks for the references to other covers. My point isn't that there are only two versions, but that Jimi's version is better to me.

Another example would be Voodoo Child (Slight Return) - Jimi or Stevie Ray. Sure, there are other versions. But these are the two that I am personally familiar with, so I offer my preference as the thread title asks.

I'll be checking out the others today.
