System Overview

this is a stereo and 5.1 surround system built around the AR MGC-1 "Magic Speakers". Ken Kantor designed the AR MGC-1 and these were his personal pair. they had been wasting away in a storage locker for many years and Ken wanted to pass them on to someone who would restore them and put them to good use. the cabinets needed to be refinished, the grills had to be fabricated from scratch, all the driver surrounds were replaced, and one driver was completely absent. it took me nearly a year of procrastinating before finishing the restoration process. pic's here: http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z305/ST_dingus/MGC-1/?start=all. the system sounds spectacular in stereo supplied by the Squeezebox, and even better with multi-channel SACD, DVD-A and Blu-ray recordings via the Oppo BDP-83.
