Nuprime LPS-212 Linear Power supply

Exhibit A for how much a good power supply can improve the sound.
Just connected it to my CDP-9 today, and it's a quantum leap over the Teradak DC-30
(and of course the Switching power supply that came with the player).
Much more organic, dimensional sound; I guess you could say more
tube-like (in the best sense). I'm really glad I got it-

Hello, i.m.o. you need a 15VDC Powersupply for the CDP9. Should be a "LPS215".

Glad to hear you are enjoying it.

When you ask about "will it make a difference" it becomes difficult to answer except in a general sense.

Good you decided to take the leap.

Always happy to hear when expectations are met, or exceeded.

I think even though the DC input marking on CDP-9 is rated 15V, a 12V PSU would do just fine.  It was designed to work with 12V to 15V.

I'd also like to put in a good word for John Casler; the service was incredibly quick. John rec'd my check on a Saturday (I believe), and I had
the LPS-212 in hand the following Wednesday (air freighted directly from Taiwan) :D. I'm looking at the MCX-2 down the road as a high powered,
good quality Class D amplifier to power my Legacy Calibre Monitors-

Thanks for the kind words.  Sometimes we get lucky and the product arrives in 3-4 days, but normal wait time is 7-10 days.

I have an MCX-2 with your name on it  8)

Hi...A LPS can't "fix" awful MOBO parts. It can allow great ones to act better. Also, it is anything but a wizardry wand... you need to accomplish some degree of

"minimum amount" in associated framework segment quality to hear a distinction.

Agree. The device should follow good audiophile design principles. Take WR-1 for example, many customers want a streamer for less than $500, so it comes with a AC adapter. Upgrading to LPS-205 take WR-1 to its full potential.

Would the a300 benefit from this upgrade?

No, A300 power supply is internal.  A300 is meant to be a < $2K product.  If we design it with a linear power supply, then we need a bigger case, and also other changes, that will become a totally different product, a $3K streaming amp. But…..it is still an all-in-one amp, at that price point, customer could buy a Stream-9 + DAC-9SE + STA-9 and have near reference class sound.  My point is, for ultimate performance, don't go with all-in-one product.
