Salk Streamplayer and Rigelian?

Mr. Salk, any chance you'd consider getting the StreamPlayer automatically authorized on the new MPOD/MPAD platform (http://www.rigelian.net)? It seems like a great "in-between" option for those of us who haven't fallen in love with any of the free music daemon apps and those of us who are too cheap to pay for Roon.

I'll check into this.  If it is an MPD remote, it should work just fine.  Our Gen II StreamPlayer should work with it right out of the box.

Can the Streamplayer provide cover artwork over http to a client like Rigelian? If so, is there a specific path to use?

According to the Rigelian FAQ, it can locate cover artwork via an http connection.  The StreamPlayer Gen II has a directory /var/www/albumart.  You can get to it with a browser at the address:  http://splayer.local/albumart.  Better yet, if you know the StreamPlayer's IP address use this format:  http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/albumart (substituting the IP address for the x's).  You should see the directory structure of the music directory.

Each piece of album art is a cover art file placed in the same directory as the music files for each CD.

Check the Rigelian documentation for where to input this address in the Rigelian set-up. Once you have that configured, it should be able to find the album artwork for each CD that has a cover art file in its directory.

So, first use a browser to confirm that you can point to the albumart directory and it shows the contents of your music directory.  Then configure Rigelian to point to that address.

Let me know how it works.

Thank you, both. I will try that tonight.
