……Perhaps a building block approach will make active systems more appealing for customers. Imagine a T-series speaker that is "active ready"; Three sets of binding posts with jumpers, internal passive crossover that can be easily bypassed when a customer is ready to purchase the active crossover. The customer could start out 2 channel,
next go to passive bi-amping, and finally add the active crossover and last two channels of amplification. An upgrade path is created for the customer. The customer can build their system as funds, space or whatever other constraints may have been a factor at the time purchase are removed.

Question? What made Bryston try a Class D hybrid approach? Was it due to the collaboration with Axiom? Because in the past it has been stated that Bryston was very happy with their A/B design. If it sells well could we see a whole line of Class D hybrid? Are the Class D hyrid cheaper to manufacture? Very interesting.

Hi Barry
Yes a collaboration with Axiom.
They would be about 1/2 the price of the current amps as similar power.

Interesting given what been developed with Hypex and Purifi.

Any thoughts on projected timeframe when the new hybrid Class D amps could hit the streets? Would these come with the 20 year warranty or would they be less?
-
Hi Rod
I hope to have product available in Mid Summer.
I would say 5 years on the Class D as we need some history and things change so quickly with Digital.
best
