Does the Candela invert phase?
« on: 23 Feb 2016, 11:09 pm »
I think Klaus skipped out of town for a much needed break. The UPS just dropped off a Candela. Anybody knows if this inverts phase?
thanks,
Russ

Yes, the Candela Preamp has phase inversion.

This is just the basic characteristic of this "classic vacuum tube circuit" known as a "mu Follower" or just plane "Cathode Follower" using one single stage - very popular in the early days of preamp circuit design, and used today by various HI FI manufacturers. The only condition required, is to reverse the connection at the output. This is best done by just reversing the connection at the speakers binding post.
