Brad's driver-less HTS speakers
« on: 14 Apr 2007, 04:41 pm »
Brad called to order a complete HTS home theater set-up along with a pair of HT3's for another room.

He had a local company build cabinets for his home theater set-up.  They were done in maple.  In talking to the cabinet makers, they suggested that since they had to finish his cabinets, they could also finish the speaker cabinets at the same time.  That way, the color and finish would match perfectly.

Well, we don't normally do this sort of thing.  But since most of our work us custom, there really wouldn't be any harm.

Rather than using straight maple, however, we built these cabinets using fiddleback maple.  We thought that by doing so, the speaker cabinets would still stand out as being a little "special".

We are still working on Brad's HT3, but we just shipped out all of his HTS cabinets (three MTM's across the front, a pair of MT's for the rear channels and a 12" subsoofer).

Here are some pictures of the unfinished cabinets (they should look quite a bit more dramatic when finish is applied)...

Happy listening, Brad (once you get the crossovers and drivers installed, that is)!
