How do the electrostats sound in that small room? Is that all diffusion on the wall? What brand?

Hi,

Yes they are RPG type diffusers. The great thing about the Sanders speakers and his philosophy is there is very little side wall/ceiling/floor reflections. So they tend to act like a huge pair of headphones with very little room reaction when set up properly.

They look great.
Some electrostatics are a difficult drive, but I guess Bryston makes the job well.

James, those are old Thiel SCS2s. At one point I had one as a center channel in the main system (before the MCS1) and then I got a second black laminate one and used them as surrounds in the main system for a bit. I then found a pair of mildly beat up black ash ones locally at a great price and stripped them down (what a pain) and painted them the color of the walls. On rare occasion, I use my 2nd black laminate one as a rear center in the main system (I have one of those old Marantz monoblocks that is only a few inches wide and were made to be stacked 5 wide as the width of an ordinary component). I use (original Thiel) Power Points as the rears in the main system hooked to a Rel Strata II sub - the main system photo shows 2 Rel Storm IIIs on the mains and a Q150 on the center). Below is a picture of the main room entrance and you can see one of the Power Points in the rear painted the wall color.

The reason the basement (and bedroom system) are nice is that the main room is too bright for any daytime TV. Below is a shot of the main room from the loft upstairs. In the lower left you can see some wiring which runs to the Bryston 6BSST which powers the center and rears and the slim Marantz amp which sees rare use. Those amps sit on an amp stand behind the sofa.

Hi James,I figure I'd send you this pict of my just a bit bigger room from the newer house as I can't figure how to up load to the site.

I just finished putting Roxul in the ceiling joists,Next my electrician has to(hopefully) a couple dedicated 20a lines and my 2X240 lines,Not sure how much extra power I have.

Put in a couple of tritraps(front corners)and once I get more power,I'll do first reflections ect,

Thanks James,the room is 12Wx19Dx7.5H,a tad bigger than the other,next the power and room treatment(which I have(Gik)
