Nice macro. Back in Seattle, I loved how everything was green. Even the tree trunks with the moss clinging to practically everything:

Say jjdog2:

Do you know the difference between "deer nuts" and "Beer Nuts"?

Well... these days Beer Nuts are going for about $12.00 a pound, but you can still find deer nuts under a buck..  :D

It's interesting that you titled that image "Do not stop on tracks", because that sign is the first thing that drew my eye.
Obviously it's not the focus of the image, but that's the first thing I saw, not the (very) colorful wind thingy centered in the image.

Speaking of "focus".....This is my day off today, and what I happened to be focused on.  :thumb:

Hey Jake,
They represent the types of rubs (seasonings) the meat is covered with.
I mark them throughout the entire cooking process so when I pack the leftovers in the ziplock baggies I can mark the bags.
That way, we always know what flavor we're eating.

Here's my "legend" for today:
- Simply Marvelous "Sweet and Spicy" - no toothpick
- Slap Yo' Daddy - one toothpick
- Big Poppa "Money" - two toothpicks
- 3 Eyz - three toothpicks

Here's what it looks like 3.5 hours later:

Cool, had an inkling it might have to do with seasoning.  And now you've thrown a couple of chubs of sausage on to smoke as well?  Damn, I'm all hungry just lookin' at this pic of deliciousness!

Q on, St. Louis!

Yes, indeed.
If you Google search for images of "Smoke a fatty", or "Smoke a fattie", most of the photos will be sausages on a smoker.
Of course there's a few random Cheech and Chong pictures too.

Thanks for the complement fellas. With the outside temperature being about 70 degrees, the windows in the house are all open.
This brings the amazing aroma throughout the entire house.
MMmmmm I can't wait til dinnertime.

I had a late breakfast, but looking at all that delicious food, I'm hungry again. I'm well on my way to becoming a blimp.

On a different note, here's my girl (Peppers) from a couple years back. I lost her to old age about 6 months ago and I still miss her. I try to focus on all the good times we had, and this picture was taken on such a day - I was preparing for an agility run with my border collie and Peppers was looking at me intently and paying attention to my every move. My wife took the picture with her Nikon D5100. At this point, I feel like I can never get another Dalmatian after her.

I love her, I miss her, I cherish every moment I spent with her. Nowadays, I tend to smile when I think of her instead of feeling sad.

Maritan,

So sorry for your loss of Peppers.  IIRC, she was a rescue dog, eh?  Good on ya for that.  My experience has been that the shelter animals offer deep rewards in the heart.  Nice to hear that most of the pain has passed and I'm sure Chloe and Griffin help with that.

Sorry to go OT, guys.  Now back to our regularly scheduled parade of photos.

If you are smiling then Peppers is smiling to.

Beautiful dog.
