Rocket - Dude....You not only have balls of steel, you have FROZEN balls of steel.  :o

Last I checked they weren't frozen.   Actually, you have no idea of the high walking, working we do. Most people would freak. I am an expert at heights and am probably in the top 10% when it comes to that. Good iron workers take to the next level though.

Last week when putting up roof tin I slid down the plywood roof 25' while standing. There was a skiff of snow and it made it really slippery. While sliding, like I am skateboarding, I am thinking when is my fall arrest rope going to kick in, I'm getting close to the edge and a 30' drop. I am also wondering if I had enough screws in my d ring anchor at the roof top which my rope is attached to. Then finally some traction hit and I stopped about 6' from the edge. It was about -25 outside. Some fun huh Bamby.

I talked with a german fellow the other day and has lived in many parts of the world and asked him why he lives up here in the cold. He talked about the heat, malaria, and issues of the hotter spots in the world. When it's too hot you can only undress so much. When it's cold you can put good clothes on a be warm. There is a peace and calm in the frozen north. With all that I have dreams of being a snow bird in the future. Take the best both north and south have to offer at the best times.

Hey!

Well, it is a full first of Winter today. But it doesn't feel like it here in NYC, the temperature hit  a record warm at 69*F today.

Anyway, I've been hit with a cold, so I stay home today. With time I uploaded a few pictures I took last month of Fall in NYC...

In this Florida rookery there were all kinds of nests, hatchlings and young birds, along with two large iquanas that were very slowly surrounding one bird, in hopes of making a feast of him and his kin; drama played out in real life. The real tragedy? People using their cell phone to give live, move-by-move updates of the dance of death and the Great Blue Heron mating ritual. "AGNES, I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE! YOU SHOULD SEE THIS! HE'S DOING YADDA, YADDA YADDA.........! Like a bad Seinfeld episode, Florida snowbirds with New Jersey accents that sounded like two wood rasps rubbing together.
And the COMB-OVERS! BLECH!

Oh, yeah, Merry Christmas and wonderful holidays to all AC members and their poor families.

Missouri has a lot of natural springs that pour forth millions of gallons of water daily.  It comes out of the ground cold.
When the outside temps hover at -2 degrees as they did today, fog develops over the water's surface.

Now at the very end of Christmas day... it's dark, late, cold outside, warm inside and all the presents have been opened. Everybody's got that tired kinda glow.

Puzzling Xmas
