My guess is that Bob Carver has the business acumen of Erik Buell.
Maybe sticking to designing is the way to go for both men.

It should be very interesting, in a good way, with EJ Sarmento involved.

Bob's designs have always made decent power so that pretty much rules out the single ended stuff.

There is plenty of big Triodes and Pentodes to hi power SE as 211,212,845,805,GM70,GK71,833 just to mention old tubes, not to mention industrial tubes. The 212 delibery 50W SE conservative.

Well I can certainly say that the Crimson 275 is the real deal.

I have never heard anyone say anything bad about his tube amps.
I wouldn't mind some.

We have showed with Bob of several shows. Bob himself is an interesting character. Great guy. His amps and speakers are very nice.  It will be interesting to see where these new designs go. I wish them the best of luck

I have owned a Torii II and now own the 275. As good as the Torii is, the Carver is much better.

Are you asking if it's auto-biasing?

I don't know about this new integrated but here's the Cherry 180.
Matched tubes look to be required.

There is various type of tube bias, as auto-bias, manual bias, self adjusting bias, cathode bias, fixed bias etc.

This amp use 4 output tubes, each tube may have its individual bias adjusting or adjusted as a pair in this case the amp will need matched pair tubes.

I just ordered a Crimson 275 hoping it's a good match for my Tannoys.  In the event I keep it, I really hope Mark is only assisting in the design, and not playing a larger role in this endeavor.

i wrote a reasonably lengthy post with my observations of the carver c275 at a-gon... you can find it under my same username

imo it is an excellent amp, in absolute terms, as well as in value for the money

the biasing is done manually, but very easy to do, as there is an onboard meter, and just using a single screw adjustment on the rear... the biasing holds very steady once set, given the tube life it is pretty much set and forget for a good long while -- the amp does not have specific tube autobias per se, but according to the manufacturer, there is circuitry inside that seems to adjust for output tubes that are not matched, which is a good feature

This looks equivalent to AutoBias.
