FS: Audio by Van Alstine Insight + DAC with extras $150 Original owner, purchased 7/30/08 ($899), chip upgrade to Burr Brown OPA627AP 3/13/09. A fine & solid example of Frank's gear, rated at 8 of 10 for age. Still sounds good, no issues, simply too many DACs. Currently using his new DAC 5 unit, still have an Ultra Hybrid DAC for occasional use. Unit's only real issue is flexibility, single coax input, with RCA outputs. Soundwise I like it every bit as much as either of my newer Topping D50 or D50S units, they just have the variety of inputs. DAC 5 unit solved the variety issue.
To assist in addressing the input issue included with the base unit is (1) Inday DA4X-R switcher unit (green or blue LED) with or without remote ($129 list, purchased in 2008) for Coax & Optical input (4 ea), and (1) USB to Coax M2Tech HiFace or HiFace2-R unit for computer USB output ($185 purchased in 2010 & 2012). Note, the HiFace unit is only effective with NT/XP & earlier versions of Msft operating systems & requires driver download, the HiFace2 unit is effective for Windows 7 & some higher versions. As I understand it they both work directly with MAC systems. ymmv
