Title: Fats Domino Passed Away

The legendary rock and roll singer Fats Domino died at age 89, he born in 1928, 26Feb1928-24Oct2017.

Fats name was Antoine Domino, his daughter Karen Domino-White said he died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Fats was an American pianist, singer and songwriter, at one moment his biggest rival was Elvis Presley. Married to Rosemary Domino since 1948, he had 13 children

He hit the top 10 hit charts ten times during the latter half of the 1950s. His biggest hits include "Blueberry Hill" and "Is not That a Shame." Five of his singles released before 1955 sold over one million copies and earned him gold records.

He was born and raised in New Orleans and adopted a musical style based on traditional rhythms and blues. Fats pioneered rock & roll and sang along with saxophones, basses, piano, electric guitar and drums. Fats was among the first homeage to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

The following year he won the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987.

I had no idea he was still alive. I remember him from the early days of American Bandstand. RIP.
