ATH W3000ANV's--stock cord too short
« on: 27 Nov 2013, 07:04 pm »
I continue to be absolutely thrilled with my ATH W3000ANV's; especially with my recently taking delivery of the DNA Stratus amp.  My issue--the stock captive cord on the W3000's is a bit too short for my setup (I think it's around 12', I need about 15').

I'm struggling with the idea of having these beauties recabled with an aftermarket cable and welcome any input; I'm considering Lawton  Audio, but again welcome other suggestions.

The other option is to try and find or have built a nice quality 4-5' extension cable..

I'm still relatively 'new' to serious headphone listening, so I welcome thoughts & suggestions.

Thanks,

Randy

Use an accessory cable. Any money you spend on recabling will be completely lost upon resale. And recabling will LOWER the value of your cans. Anyone interested in a pair of used W3000s will most likely want them unmodified.

Thanks Steven; that's pretty much where my thoughts are ending up as well.
