Title: Hello, David from Canada...
Post by: DaveFred on 12 Sep 2018, 10:14 pm
Hello everyone,

Found this place while looking for an Adcom amp.

I like vintage Adcom amps and would really like a nice GFA-555, 555ii or 555se.

I recently built a nice pair of solid cherry 8" MTM's.

Take care,

David.

Let me ask you:
Do you could say real wood offer a better sound quality? than MDF and ply wood?

That opinion/theory is the basis of all the speakers Lou Hinkley builds at Daedalus, and have yet to see any unhappy customers (myself included).

Where in Canada are you? I'm currently visiting on the Vancouver Island.

Nice job on the speakers, and welcome to the forum.

Nice looking speakers, David.

Did you slap them together from scratch, or did they get their beginnings as a kit?

100% from scratch. I picked the drivers, designed and built the cabinets from rough stock, designed and built the crossover.

I did ask a lot of questions on the Interwebs and did get a lot of advice along the way. This is the second set of speakers I have built.

I am in SW Ontario.
