7Ch version of a Khartago?
« on: 1 Oct 2003, 06:28 am »
Klaus,

Was wondering if an MC version of a Khartago could be built? Maybe using one of the larger Stratos chassis?

I'd love a 7 channel/one box amp at some point. And such a beast from Odyssey would most likely be at the top of my list. I don't need big power, and the Khartago should have more than enough juice for my setup.

The pic or two I've seen of a Khartago makes it look a good deal smaller/shorter than a Stratos. But I've no clue as to the actual dimensions of either.

Hmmm. I guess not?

Even a 4ch version of a Khartago would be nice for the rears & rear centers. Then an HT-3 for mains & center.

Maybe when I have a few thousand to spare for new amps such a thing might exist...

A 4 channel would be great.

How about 4 channels of the Khartago in a Stratos Chassis?

I spoke to Klaus yesterday and he mentioned that he can do 4 channels of Stratos in a Stratos case.  Actually it would be a dual stereo in that case with two power cords, two on/off switches etc...

We did not talk about how many channels of Khartago he could get in a case.

How about a 7 Channel Mono Xtreme in an old Maytag refrigerator case?

Ahhh... A dual stereo Stratos IS possible eh? That and an HT-3 would be a pretty decent 7ch solution I'd imagine.

While it's not all in a single case, at least it'd cut it down to two cases. Not all of us have room for Kraft Monos...

Klaus,

As I didn't even have $500 to spare for one of the Khartago's you had on sale, I doubt I'd have any $ available anytime soon for upgrading amps. Especially something in the range of what 4ch Stratos might cost.

But I plan my purchases waaaaay ahead of time. Which was why I was asking about an Odyssey amp with more than 3 channels. I figured if I brought up the question, that it might actually be a reality by the time I was ready to upgrade amplification.

So Klaus, when I've got some $ to drop on amps, you'll probably hear from me then.

And I still need to figure out what an amp upgrade would really do for me. I don't really need any more power than I currently have...

Hmm... Maybe it's a good thing I don't have the $ for new amps right now...
