Hi guys,

I recently acquired a 14b3 and on startup it produces a strange clicking sound opposed to my 4bsst2 which had more of an electrical buzz for the first second or two and then locked in.

Also, the amp makes a much more audible pop when shut off than does any of my other amps. Is this characteristic of this series or should it be sent in for some TLC?

It seems to run fine once it is on, but it just doesn’t seem 100%.

Mine doesn't do that. I'd email Bryston tech support (who will probably ask you to send it in).

I also have a 14B3 and it behaves similarly. I think its normal.
My amp makes a couple of rapid sharp click sounds when turned on...with flashing red light on the front display...then a little whoof sound from the speakers...and the lights turn green. 

I usually have the amp powered 'on' 24/7 so it's not much of an issue for me.

I think there was an earlier thread about this too. From what you've described, I think the rapid clicking you hear at turn on is normal, and the same as what I hear on the Cubed amps I have here. Not as sure about the whoof sound.
