I have new speakers, Legacy Focus SE, and there will be some new amplifiers to sample.
New DACs and preamps.
Other very interesting speakers tentatively booked to appear.

Sounds like fun. I live NE of Atlanta and would be interested if sometime everyone gets together nearer Asheville, GSP or even Charlotte but Cary is pushing 400 miles from me and that’s just too far. Have a great time! Randy

I tweaked my back last thursday, been getting worse each day. So now I'm in bed on tylenol. Don't think I'll be better by Saturday. Definitely can't prepare the house or make food.
So gonna have to cancel. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Glad I checked the thread, I was about to head over to your place! I hope you feel better soon . I highly recommend going to the physical therapist for back pain, as they sorted me out in no time.

Thanks James. I usually never have any back problems, so I'm hoping it will just heal up. But if it continues I will look into PT.

Thanks Steve. Finally starting to feel a little better today. I was sad listening to music on Saturday knowing nobody was coming over. :(
Once I catch up on everything I'll look at rescheduling. Can't wait to see everybody.

Eric: Highly recommend attending Rich's shindig. You will get a chance to meet
some of the most knowledgeable and fine people around. I have received a lot of
good advice from a lot of them. Just a great group who rarely take pics at any G2G.

About Ember, I lived 2 years in Winston back in 2007, being a small City, Winston is not a hot bed of Audio enthusiasts for sure. I would move back there because it's much more laid back, genteel, yea "red neck" nice people, less transplants, lots less. LOL! we used to go to a Waffle House in Ruralhall pronounced "Rurrall" for the aviance....... :duh: :thumb:
Retail is/always having a tough time. Even here in Charlotte Audio Advice is not doing so well. Most of that is the way it is ran. I'm bullish and I stay otta retail places.

Well guys, Scot Hull the publisher of Part-Time Audiophile called me today, and it turns out I will be covering AXPONA in Chicago the weekend of the G2G, which is great news in one aspect, and bad in another. I will not be able to attend the G2G but definitely let me know when the next one is. I'd love to attend.

"It's a rebellion against the idea that you can't design a piece of gear unless you have an engineering degree," amp builder Jim Dowdy says. Dowdy is a member of a loose group of perfectionist audiophile tube-amp builders called the Dixie Bottleheads, a crew that designs and builds components around vintage vacuum tubes.
The Bottleheads use tubes not only for their lush, resonant tone, but also because they're rewarding to work with—small changes can yield big sonic benefits. Builders hunt for rarities, plundering midcentury war-surplus electronics for a windfall of otherwise-unobtainable vintage tubes.
To measure the changes wrought by a new transformer, the Bottleheads use a fail-proof test: listening. "A particular amp might have gone through eight iterations, so we just get a dozen people together and decide which is better," Dowdy says. "You have to listen with an open mind. And open ears."

I would really like to host the next event in CLT is possible. I have an enormous amount of Marriott points, but I would like to challenge you guys with my Transcendent Pre running 300b EML Mesh Plates. I think this is a giant killer.
I am in GVL, SC - but next time I can put us up in a suite at the Courtyard or Renaissance.
I have still have my vr4jr's Gen IV as well and can pack them up for the drive.
This weekend sucked - business and family often get in the way.
I am glad to hear everyone enjoyed. Go Tigers - Clemson that is :)

You can and you should, and if I had known I would’ve brought my TWL Discreet USB cable.
But....you should just upgrade to the PS Audio DS with Bridge II running Red Cloud, use the internal pre and be done, done, done :thumb:

Yup.
I got all my heatsinks drilled out so it’s time to get back to work...Steve’s drill press cut through like butter and exacting technique is second to none. He is his own personal CNC!

As always, thanks to you (and Julie) for allowing us to invade your home :thumb:!
It was great seeing all of the 'regulars' and meeting new guys, as well.
After listening to all of the chatter, I am beginning to feel like I am an audio 'muggle', and the rest of you guys are audio wizards. I guess I am blissfully ignorant, and I mostly just listen to music without getting bogged down in the technical side.
Heard some good sounds, and the occasional not so good sound, but overall it is always worth the time and travel.
