This is for all you Salk owners that have some kind of PC or server attached to your system. A internet radio station that broadcasts classical music in FLAC. Sounds absolutely divine on my HT-2 TL's.

Enjoy.

Listening to it right now.  Sound great over my DIY speakers as well.

Hi,

I'm very interested in trying this.  I tried the link which prompted WinAmp to open up, but nothing played.

How are you making the link work?

Thanks,

TV

The .flac file type is the problem.  Winamp may not be set up to handle this filetype by default.  If you have foobar, you can try using it instead.

Here's the foobar plugin for winamp:

I am listening to it now using vlc player on my Mac. I cut&paste the URL right in the player's search, then it worked. The sound it is pretty amazing, but just seems a tiny bit compressed. Is it what are you hearing?

Tried this stream on SqueezeCenter/SB with no luck.  Am I missing something in file settings?

This should be posted on

Don't you think?   Share the wealth

Mahler , Mozart, Bach,, I am pretty sure they can sound good on other speakers.

Not trying to be a wiseass, I love classical as well, let the other guys on AC know of your find!

Thanks for the link

I got VLC player from  http://www.videolan.org/vlc/, after downloading, click "open the network" under File, and add the URL of the website provided in the original post. I hope it helps (at least it works for my mac) Good luck

agree, it should be linked to a diskless circle or something like that.

I have it playing on VLC on my iMac now.  Thanks for the tip.  Works great.

Very cool.  Thanks, nyc.  Is it me, or is there just nothing like classical to test the dynamics of our Salk's?

You are right. I like them all except pop/disco! But it is just cool to get hifi radio thru the net! BTW, the classical music on this station did not impress me yet, though I have not spent enough time listening.
