Art,
A BIG thanks to you and your wife for opening up your beautiful home and all of the work you did to make this weekend a BIG success.  I had a great time and got to hear some very very good gear.  Gary's battery tube amp and line stage buffer (if that is correct) is the bomb

Hearing Danny's new speakers which where very nice makes me want to do more work to my P-Audio BM-12CX38's.

Art once again thank you for the everything and it was great to see everyone again.  Wish I could have stayed longer.

Warm Regards,
Guy

I'll make a few initial comments about the downstairs system. As it was totally unfamiliar to me, quite frankly it would be inappropriate for me to assign any attribute to a particular component. However, here are some general thoughts...

Gary Dodd's new battery powered pre-amp and amp were things of lust. Very compact, and appeared to be very well built. The Onyx CD player was an impressivly large and solid component.

As for the speakers...given Danny's price point for this kit they should be on every DIY'ers short list. Danny had mounted the crossover exposed on the back of the speaker - I thought this was a very sexy feature. I mean, why hide such audio jewelry? My only suggestion would be to mount the components (caps, inductors, etc.) on the top of the board, and the connections between the components on the bottom of the board.

I'd really like to hear this system again after a couple hundred hours of intensive play.

Thanks Art and Cathy for putting up with a lot of loud and crazy guys.  I had a great time listening to the equipment and just as much if not more meeting people and talking audio.

Thanks Art and Cathy for putting up with all of our mess. I sure had fun and good eats as well. I also want to thank everyone for the comments on the new gear I have. And Danny sure can make a nice looking and very good sounding speaker in a pinch! I met several new people and enjoyed every minute of it .  Great day for all! :thumb:

Thanks to Art for hosting us all!

I had a great time listening to the electrostats, LS9 and V2. I had not seen the LS9 upclose and was awestruck with its sheer size and presence. Sounded wonderful too! The bass they are capable of in nothing short of amazing! :o  :o

The electrostats also sounded great once it warmed up, though the sheer size of those panel would disqualify most of our listening rooms. Same goes with those LS9s. Those things are -huge-. Art is indeed blessed to have such a great listening room and topnotch gear! :thumb:

Danny has another winner on his hands!  :thumb: They were lot smaller than what i expected and should fit in most rooms without any issues.
