2. Opinion of SS8 vs. AZ Crescendo?
I heard both of these at the California Audio Show last year. Sadly, I only had a few moments at the end to listen in the Salk room, but I really liked what I heard. I live in a 784 sq. ft. condo, so I don't need a bass monster. I was thinking of amping with Red Dragon M500 - I've heard they are a good value/dollar. Right now I have BIC DV64's (hooray budget audio). Ultimately, I think I want a 5.1 channel pre-amp outputting to separate amps, but this year I can probably only afford the 2 fronts, so I'll probably just be running it from a 2 channel DAC / some cheapish stereo pre-amp.
A friend has AZ Adagios. I liked them, but I want more bass. The Crescendos sounded absolutely amazing on an Indian drum track somebody submitted. I wondered if anybody here has an opinion on the speakers (obviously the SS8 has price in their favor... and I liked them a lot. They made me stop when other rooms had me shrugging...).
