I always encourage people to add a subwoofer to complete the spectrum and add a ton of room and space in the Soundstage. But in my case I do not have the luxury to put another box and wires in my system. So a mostly fullrange speaker will be optimum.

What sub or sub's I go for is up in the air. My budget is only about $1000 to $1200 and I would like to get at least 2.

The Rythmik L12 is essentially our base level servo kit with a slightly different driver, and a fairly lightly constructed cabinet.
On a budget it's a killer option for servo controlled subs, I added NoRez to my unit to compensate.
A single L12 was able to put out plenty of bass into my dad's living room, adding a second will give you even more headroom and impact. Ran circles around my dad's cheap, ported, Velodyne sub.

The F12G is the same as our Servo "Plus" kits, fairly well cross-braced, using our custom woofer and A370PEQ woofer, which offers more control and a little extra headroom per driver.

Either of those options will be solid imo, and won't require any extra assembly or shipping costs.
