Title: 242s or 244s?
Post by: sidders on 20 Nov 2016, 11:29 pm
Hi.
What would be the better choice? 242s on ceiling reflection points and 244s on side wall, or the other way round. I already know that in an ideal world, it would be better to have 244s on both, but I only have so many panels, so it has to be one or the other. Just wondering if there would be any benefit in one way or the other.

Thanks.

It really depends on how many and what kind of air gap you can put on the panels on the ceiling. If you can hang them down with a good 4 to 8" air gap and put 3 to 4, together, i would say to use 242s on the ceiling and 244s on the side walls.

Thanks Glenn. That's what I wanted to hear. I'll be using four 242s bang in the middle of a 10x10FT room ,and I've got the GIK ceiling brackets, so 4 inches gap it will be. All corners apart from the floor will be taken care of by Tri traps/soffits/ 244s and monsters. Three 244s on each side wall and 2 Monsters on the back wall.  :thumb:

Yeah those treatments will definitely help the sound in your room. Never enough bass trapping in small square rooms!  :thumb:
