X3’s and vintage gear

Break out that dusty receiver and record player.

The X3’s will make them sound new again.

So that’s what I did.

The Yamaha CR820 I bought in January 1978 along with the Technics SL1800 both pictured. Along with those gems I purchased the Yamaha NS500’s (byrilliam  dome game) yeah can’t spell that and a Nakamichi 580 cassette deck. My first major purchase of my young life! 😮😎 Probably took me awhile to pay it off.

It sounds shockingly good. No not at the Allnic Rega level but if the $25G worth of junk wasn’t there, this junk sounds good too 😊

I had similar experience with my M5 sapphires when my fancy tube amp went to the shop. Dug out my trusty NAD 80 watter from the early 2000s and it sounded surprisingly good. Only odd balls like us are willing to plunk down another 7500 to make it sound close to perfect. Still using my Denon DP-35F turntable from the mid 80s!
