Has anyone tried a pass labs x.5 amp with the unifield 3?

Not me but I have this really, really strong instinct that an XA60.5 would be great with the U3.

i'm thinking more along the lines of the x.5 series.  no room for monoblocks and the xa-30.5 is a little less power than i'd like

I'm on the fence between a Bryston 14bsst² and a Pass x350.5.

I know they have a different sound, but can't decide on which one...I also realize that both amps are more power than I need.

Does anyone have any thoughts to sway me one way or the other?

Those amps might not even get warm to the touch  Personally I find the Pass amps a touch warmer so that's where I would lean.

the x350.5 is 600W at idle.  it'll get warm

I've been listening to my Mk1 U3s with KT 120 based VA910 monos by KR. VERY good combination of both finesse and muscle. Amps are modestly sized too so they don't look weird together.

moving from the pass x250.5 to the pass xa60.8 class A.  this should be fun
