Dear P-man, Vinyl Lady, Doc, C-Bob, et al,Any solo Sugarcane Harris to recommend? If memory serves his first record "Sugarcane" was terrific but I haven't heard it in 30 (?) years. I'm very familiar with his work with Zappa, and as stunning as Harris is on "Burnt Weenie Sandwich", and man is he ever, it's his work with Mayall that I remember most.I think I'll go to my grave with songs from "Back to the Roots" rattling around in my head. And what a great album that is! In addition to Mayall and Harris, there's Larry Taylor, Eric Clapton, Keef Hartley, Johnny Almond, Mick Taylor ... and Harvey Mandel! Man, does Mandel hot on that record! And I love the story how Taylor came to Mayall's band by answering an ad in the newspaper. But out of all that great playing, it's Harris'playing that I seem to focus on the most. So, any Sugarcane Harris records to suggest? Possibly one of the Shuggie Otis productions? Thanks in advance,KP
