Steve F,

I tried and tried with no success to find the article but, I can't find it now. I was thinking I read the piece at The Inner Ear but, I had no luck there although they may have changed their home page and I didn't dig any further.
I'll try again today.

Steve F,

It just popped into my head that I had saved not the article but where it was written and yes it was at The Inner Ear. They have changed the lay out of their site. I checked the archives there and I don't see it. Sorry.

Did you find the link to the MAC software?  I'd love to read up on it as well.  It sounds head and shoulders above the rest.

If you're running your music off a computer, and have access to a calibrated mic and soundcard, then this product works really well:

There's an excellent "how to" guide on the Computer Audiophile site

There's a broad array of settings for the correction filters. Playing with those is easy, and provides a good sense in practice of how they influence sonics. (For example, you can change the width of the gating/cycles window and/or change the amount of correction applied.)
