Hi all, I just picked up a pair of 3U second hand and they are on their way to me.  I am looking to get a pair of stands for them for them, but I'm also not really keen on spending $300+ that many of the recommend stands seem to be.  I've seen Sanus stands mentioned before and I like the look and price of them, but they all seem to have top plates of 6x6.  Is that big enough for a set of 3U to sit stable on there?  What top plate size should I be looking for as I haven't found anything at a reasonable price that is the same size as the 3U.

If you consider Skylan is priced in deflated Canadian dollars, his shipping is very reasonable, and the fact that he can make the exact sized top plate for your speakers makes them a no-brainer IMO.  Go for the SKY-24D and you'll never look back.
