He told me six coils $112 a piece x 6
28$ per spark plug
$165 labor
I told him to go ahead
I am not willing to do on my own !!
Is this crazy ?
Do all coils need changed and all plugs ?

Symptoms, if any? Age? Miles?
My family has run several Beemers well over 200K miles, never changed coils/plugs.

2010 with 60k 328xi
Engine shaking dash board rumbling at certain speeds.
Wife told me , bmw recommends changing all every 60k

I just called another shop and got a quote of $950.

Surprised all the six could have gone bad at one go ?
7 to 8 years age wise is far too less for a modern day car coil to go bad
And I am sure 60000 miles is less.
Never owned a BMW but yeah can understand a spark plug change would come around 60000 miles but could change seems to be early unless and until all have gone bad in one go for some reason

I have a 2011, 50k miles and had a miss on acceleration. Was a bad coil. Bmw recommends changing all 6 and plugs because plugs can foul as coil weakens. Mine was a CPO car so I just paid the $50 deductible. Dealer said he could just do 1 at a time but seemed foolish as it was already in and covered for me.

PCV valve can cause a lot of that... an it's $4 and takes less than 2 minutes to replace. Also HIGHLY suspect is MAF sensor needs cleaned, this costs $8 and about 10 minutes of your time with a scew driver.
Vibrations at lower speeds are near drivetrain center. Vibrations at highway-freeway speeds are out at the wheel area.
I could be wrong but this does seem like an easy DIY job. However, as others have said the ignition system isn't really being highlighted. Does it have a check engine light?

Totally agree with Folsom
If any one of the ignition coils is not working to it's potential first of all you will have engine check light and in general there will be loss of power and clyinder misfire

During idle? Could it be a tire problem? Check engine light?

I trust this guy , price seemed a bit high though. He did fix a slow leak tire for free.
I called another shop and got the same exact price.
Was vibrating at idle and different speeds while driving .
It just seems logical to only replace the faulty plugs and coils , not all of them .

Wrong.
It is logical to clean the MAF sensor first. MAF sensors cause the exact symptoms. Bad ignition is more violent in nature at low rpm and annoying in noise at higher rpm. There is no indication the ignition is bad from these symptoms. And cleaning a MAF sensor costs you over 100x less.

Your talking over $1k without knowing what the computer is diagnosing. There is no way I'd buy that package without more info. Also, only 60K on plugs and coils? I haven't had a single Japanese plug go bad in under 100K in 25 years of driving Hondas and Toyotas- total 700+K total miles.
Have another shop actually get some readouts before you spend another dime.

MAF sensors needing a cleaning won't show on codes.
But yes, run codes. PCV can show on codes.
