Title: Canon to discontinue EF lenses
Post by: FullRangeMan on 24 Apr 2021, 04:19 pm
Have just see this inform or merchandising:
Canon has insisted its decision to discontinue EF lenses does not mean its "abandoning" its older lens.

The company has responded after reports it added nine more EF and EF-S lenses to the discontinued list, which already contained 15 lenses.

In a statement to Inside Imaging, Canon Australia said: "Over the past two years, we’ve been focused on building out our range of RF lenses to expand the creative possibilities of our R-System consumers, however our commitment to supporting our EF lens range is unwavering.

"It’s true, Canon has recently discontinued select EF lenses in our range, however this is a process of series optimization, not an indication of us abandoning EF lenses."

And in a previous statement to Tech Rader, the company had insisted they would continue to work according to "customer demand".

They said: "We have a diverse collection of EF lenses available and will continue to manufacture and market them where there is customer demand."
