I’m contemplating using silver hook-up wire in the signal path for my 300b amp internals.
Looked at many suppliers of silver and many posts but still unsure what is the best option.
1- type of silver... .999 or .9999
2- gauge ... 20, 18 awg
3- solid or stranded ( most components have solid wires)
4- dead soft or half hard
5- with Teflon tubing?
6- Teflon tubing tight or loose
Any tips and possible suppliers in Canada ?
Thanks
Personally I prefer solid copper over silver,
Raw silver have worse sound than copper;
No stranded, Solid all the way, stranded is easy to solder but more prone to oxidation.
I bough awg 14, but for 300B you can use awg 16, if the amp will live in a cold area.
Teflon is best sound but more expensive, PVC also good and cheap.
Loose jacketing favor wet and oxidation.
As always IMO.
