Looking for any suggestions or experience as this is what I’m looking for.

Affordable means used or new under $2500.
To use with Audio Physic Virgo or other.

I am looking to see if the Musical Paradise 301 or 501 would fit that bill for my situation. I am quite confident either amp will. The 501 has 55 watts output so may work for you.

If your speakers were a bit more efficient I would seriously consider a used Inspire amp like this one.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.

Good soundstage to me means SE amps.
But 88dB and 4 ohms are not a sweet peach to a small amp.

Wind Chaser

I would not recommend a SET with those speakers.

But I can warmly recommend the Cherry Maraschino.
It's so good it helped me kick my single ended triode
addiction once and for all.

No bells, no whistles and not exactly eye candy.............

Just barebones simplicity and an uncanny ability to bring
music to life without sounding like a tube, a transitor  or
some other device.

Tomy2Tone

That Unison Research integrated in the Trading Post looks intriguing.

Certainly there is a full black option.

Wind Chaser

Certainly there is a full black option.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

Regardless, this amp isn’t about cosmetics. It was designed to deliver the highest possible performance without any other consideration. And that it does exceedingly well. There isn’t another amp at any price that interests me and that’s really something considering I paid a lot more just for tubes to plug into one amplifier, which I’ll admit was very nice at the time, but this is sooooooooo much better.

Wind Chaser

Oh, and I should mention they do make mono blocks as well; that’s what I have.

Well, this red face plate certainly will call atenttion.
I wonder how looks the power supply case in this stereo STM ?
I dont see the PS in the site.

Wind Chaser

There are a few different options for the power supply: 36 volts, 48 volts and 60 volts.

This is the 60 volt power supply.

Here it is again, pictured below the amp at the bottom of the stack...

Wow!  Is the Digital Amp Company ad campaign over now?  Everything except maybe the STM is over the OP's budget and none of them are tubed which he specified.

So to respond to the OP I might recommend some of the Prima Luna gear, and that Musical Paradise MP-501 does indeed look interesting and fits the budget nicely.  I would also be looking hard at that MP-402 running cheap to replace 1625 tubes and sporting 75 Watts per channel! At 88.5 dB sensitivity you need at least 50 WPC, IME.

mr_bill, if you find something and have questions ask us, you might surprise everyone.

Wind Chaser

Ad campaign...

The specific recommendation was for the STM, both versions well within the OP's budget.

You're right, none of them are tubed. That was kind of my point having previously owned many tube amps.

Also, I did not realize the OP started two separate threads with the same title.

JakeJ

I checked out the DAC website and yes, the STM at $1700 for the 60V power supplied version would work nicely for the OP.  I would be interested in hearing the Cherries on my Maggie 3.6r's but I can't afford new and I have never seen any Cherry amps on the used market.  Must be pretty good if no one gives them up for something else.

I think the used gear market has a lot to offer right now and the OP can easily find the amp he wants for less than his budget.

You might want to look at the Pear  Audio Integrated amplifier. Superb staging.

Audio Physic Virgo
Dont know how good this speaker perform soundstage, maybe you could consider use a dipole speaker as planar or OB.
