I am looking to upgrade my current HT speakers. While purchasing a set of Scan Rev 15W mids for my car, the seller recomended I look at the Lucidity Diluceo kit offered by GR Research for my HT setup.

I had planned to build my own using the Scan-Speak Revelation kit offered by Solen.ca, but the Diluceos are cheaper and the cabinets are already built. Does anyone own a set of these or has anyone auditioned them? They are a DIY set, and Creativesound.ca is based in BC, Canada so I can't really listen for myself since I live near Toronto. The same thing goes for the Revelation kit offered by Solen as they are based in Quebec, Canada.

He also mentioned I should go for a pair of Lucidity Criterions as well for rear surround.

Has anyone auditioned these? Any other suggestions around the same price point ($1050 - $1360) would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard the Diluceo's & the GR Research AV3's in the same setup.

I much preferred the AV3's to the Diluceo's. I'm strictly an HT guy. And I think that AV3's would serve you better as HT speakers. I don't know if you'd like the AV3's over the Diluceo's on regular 2 channel stuff. But I certainly did, and have heard I'm not the only one with that opinion.

I've not heard the AV3S though, so I can't comment on it.

You might want to think about running AV3S's on all 5 channels...

The Diluceo and Criterion are a more cost no object effort in regards to driver choice.

Still, there are many that preferred our A/V series speakers.

The A/V series speakers are at such a level now that I feel the only real performance advantage of the Lucidity series speakers is a little bit of added clarity and detail from about 10kHz and up. This is due to the use of the ribbon tweeter.

The A/V series models are more versatile in how they can be used too. Clearly they are the better value.

If you are into building kits and are looking to do a full home theater then the new A/V series home theater package deals are really tough to beat.
